=============== How to Get Help =============== .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 :titlesonly: Whether you are a newb or experienced player, every so often, a situation occurs when you have questions or need staff assistance. At those times, you will want to use /helpop [ask your question] Who Answers the Ticket ---------------------- Any helpers or staff have access to the ticket window. However, please be aware that helpers are the first people expected to answer tickets. Mods and Admins will typically only answer a ticket, if their special powers are required. What Happens when you make a ticket ----------------------------------- Until your ticket has been closed, you cannot open another one. Please wait until staff answer your ticket. We will try our best to answer it as soon as possible. When your ticket is answered, you will be put into a special chat. Local, House, and Global chat will no longer be visible and you can no longer communicate with them. Exceptions are [Alert] Announcements, /msg, /me, and [D] Discord chat. Commands will also function normally. You can also use apparate while in a ticket. How to Use ---------- Please be clear what you asking for such as the following examples - /helpop How to Wizard Spell? - /helpop Buy/Sell Shop - /helpop how to ride a broom - /helpop guide to Hogwarts The following are examples of unclear helpops - /helpop HELP - /helpop Hi - /helpop Family - /helpop I’m new When to Use ----------- Nearly everything is allowed. If you need help, we will provide it. ***But please, try asking ?Your House, first. You have a house of peers, most of which will have been here for a while. You’ll find a lot of your questions can be answered by them. If they don’t know or don’t respond, then by all means, get help from us. *** The following are some examples of what you can ask us about. - Questions for getting started - Questions about casting - Questions about your house - Questions about changing House, Names, or Gender (with an approved application on Discourse) - These require owner powers. Please do /list and confirm there is an owner online before submitting a helpop about your issue. - Questions about your family - Questions about Shops, lost wands, and locked chests. - These tend to require admin powers. Please do /list and confirm there is an admin online before submitting a helpop about your issue. - Questions about Towny Problems (thievery, griefing, perms) - These tend to require owner powers. Please do /list and confirm there is an owner online before submitting a helpop about your issue - Questions about getting a floo (with a posted request on Discourse) - These require owner powers. Please do /list and confirm there is an owner online before submitting a helpop about your issue. ***Note, this is not a complete list. These are just examples of what you can use helpop for*** When Not To Use --------------- - When you’re really bored and no one else will talk to you - To get in touch with a staff member who has you blocked - Reporting Roleplay offenses - Staff are too busy to deal with reports of minor rule violations - If they see a student casting on another student, they will punish them. They will not punish a student that is reported to be casting. - If you are being bothered by another player, take screenshots and move away. If they follow you and continue harassing you, that is when you should report it under offenses. - To complain about another staff - If you feel a staff member has abused their perms, report it under Offenses.
